Awake..and myself will awake early Ps 108:2 C.M.S. 

 

1. Awake, my soul, and with the sun 

Thy daily stage of duty runs; 

Shake off dull sloth. and joyful rise 

To pay thy morning sacrifice. 

 

2. Thy precious time mis-spent redeem; 

Each present day thy last esteem; 

Improve thy talent with due care 

For the great day thyself prepare. 

 

3. Let all thy converse be sincere, 

Thy conscience as the montide clear, 

Think how all-seeing God thy ways 

And all thy secret thoughts surveys. 

 

4. By influenceof the light Divine, 

Let thy own light too thers shine, 

Reflect all Heaven‘s propitious rays 

ln ardent love and cheerful praise. 

 

5. Wake, and lift up thyself my heart, 

And with the angels bear thy pan, 

Who all night long unwearied sing 

High praise to the eternal King. 

 

6. I wake, I wake, ye heavenly choir 

May your devotion me inspire 

That I, like you my age may spend, 

Like you may on my God attend.

Disperse my sins as morning dew 

Guard my first springs of thought and will 

And with thyself my spirit fill. 

 

4. Direct, Control, suggest, this day 

All I designed or do or say 

That all my powers, with all their might

"I laid down and slept I awaked for the Lord sustained me" - Ps.3:5 1. 

 

1. Through all the dangers of the night 

The Lord doth keep me safe, 

To see another morning dawn 

And to bow down the knee. 

 

2. Oh Lord we pray keep us today 

Beneath Thy mighty wings 

Only the ones whom thou doth keep 

Are from all dangers free. 

 

3. Let all our thoughts and all our deeds 

Show we belong to Thee 

So that our light may truly shine 

And beam to all the world. 

 

4. O grant that we never stray from 

Thee Jesus, Saviour Divine 

Until our eyes there shall behold 

Thy face for ever more.

1. Come to me, Lord, when I first wake, 

As the faint lights of rimming break; 

Bid purest thoughts within me rise, 

Like crystal dew-drops to the skies. 

 

2. Come to me in the sultry noon 

Or earths low communions will soon 

Of Thy dear face eclipse the light, 

And change my fairest day In night. 

 

3. Come to me in the evening shade 

And if my heart from Thee hath stray'd 

Oh bring it back, and from afar 

Smile on me like Thine evening star. 

 

4. Come to me in the midnight hour, 

When sleep with holds its balmily power 

Let my lone Spirit find her rest Like John, 

upon my Saviour's breast 

 

5. Come to me through life‘s varied way 

And when its pulses cease to play 

Then, Saviour bid be come to Thee 

That where Thou art, Thy child may be.
